TORONTO -- Jozef Stumpel had a goal and two assists as the Bruins completed an impressive six-game road trip with a 4-1 victory over the Maple Leafs on Monday night.

Glen Murray, Hal Gill and Ivan Huml also scored for the Bruins, who went 4-1-1 on their season-opening trip.

"I don't know if the guys want to go home. We are playing pretty well," said goalie Steve Shields, who made 33 saves. "The first game at home is going to be really tough after a long road trip."

The Bruins, who open at home game Thursday against Ottawa, are unbeaten since losing 5-1 to Minnesota in the opener.

They won despite missing injured wings Sergei Samsonov (wrist) and Martin Lapointe (broken left foot), and top defenseman Kyle McLaren, a restricted free agent who sat out after demanding a trade.

Ed Belfour allowed four goals on 26 shots for the Maple Leafs, who have lost four of their past six. The Leafs, down 4-1 in the second period, were booed off the ice after the second and third periods.

PANTHERS 3, THRASHERS 2: Kristian Huselius scored two goals, including the winner with 1:27 left in the third for host Florida. Olli Jokinen also scored for Florida, which snapped a three-game losing streak. The Panthers have two wins this season, both against Atlanta. Yuri Butsayev and Ilya Kovalchuk had goals for Atlanta, which is 0-5-0-1 and one of only two teams without a win.

Huselius scored after a turnover near the red line, firing a wrist shot past Milan Hnilicka.

Florida defenseman Lance Ward did not play after the league suspended him one game without pay for elbowing Columbus forward Tyler Wright on Saturday night.

RED WINGS 4, FLAMES 0: Curtis Joseph made 24 saves for his first shutout with host Detroit. Chris Chelios, Kirk Maltby, Tomas Holmstrom and Darren McCarty scored for the defending Stanley Cup champion, which improved to 4-2. Joseph earned his 37th career shutout. The Flames (2-3-1) had been 10-4-3 in their past 17 against the Red Wings. Detroit scored two short-handed goals in less than two minutes early in the second for a 2-0 lead.

CANUCKS 5, SHARKS 2: Markus Naslund scored three goals in less than seven minutes of the second period for Vancouver, which finished a three-game road trip with its first win in five games. Dan Cloutier, playing for the sixth time in Vancouver's seven games, stopped 30.

BLUES: Defenseman and captain Chris Pronger had a third surgery on his left wrist. The surgery included removing a plate from one of the forearm bones, releasing scar tissue and removing a small amount of bone to promote better range of motion. Pronger, who had been scheduled to return in January from prior wrist surgery and a torn knee ligament, is out indefinitely.

PENGUINS: Center Randy Robitaille will be out at least a week with a broken bone in his foot. He was injured in the 3-all tie with Tampa Bay on Saturday. He has two goals and two assists in four games.

PREDATORS: Defenseman Mark Eaton was recalled from AHL's Milwaukee, and center Greg Johnson (concussion) and right wing Scott Walker (ribs) were placed on injured reserve.
