Quarterback Carlyle Holiday on the victory:
"To come in here and win was a big thing for our program. Now we just have to keep on moving."
Center Jeff Faine on what kind of message a victory at FSU sends:
"I think it says we're back."
Coach Tyrone Willingham, on his team being 8-0:
"I have mixed emotions about our team right now. I think we did some great things today and we are very fortunate to win against another very, very good football team. But there are some things we need to clean up a little bit."
Cornerback Shane Walton on the Irish causing three turnovers in the third quarter:
"I think that's the trait of a championship team. Our defense thrives on that. We fly around to the ball, we always have eight or nine guys around the ball, and those turnovers are huge."
Tight end Matt Root, who is from Tallahassee, on returning to his hometown:
"All my life I've watched Florida State football. I've always wanted to play on this field. ... It's undescribable."
Cornerback Vontez Duff on erasing the doubts about Notre Dame:
"It's funny, because no matter what we do, people are still going to look at us like we haven't done anything yet. That doesn't really matter to us. We know what kind of team we have, we know what kind of game we play. We came down here to Florida State, and we know how to play big games."
