MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- After losing 14 straight conference games, Houston is on a roll. Memphis is in its normal second-half tailspin.

The Cougars turned away a last-minute drive and held on Saturday for a 26-21 victory.

Joffrey Reynolds rushed for 122 yards and one touchdown and Nick Eddy threw for two scores for Houston, which has won consecutive C-USA games.

"It's been a long time," Reynolds said when asked the last time Houston won two straight.

Memphis has lost five straight and is assured of an eighth consecutive losing season. Houston's Matthew Bentley had an interception with four seconds left after the Tigers moved to the Cougar 5.

The Cougars had two scoring drives in the third, including a 17-play, 98-yarder, capped when tight end Matt Mattox recovered a fumble in the end zone to put Houston up 19-14.
