CLEARWATER -- The committee planning the 2002 Festival of Trees Nov. 20-24 at the Harborview Center in downtown Clearwater is looking for volunteers and accepting applications for consignment crafts and vendors.

The festival was established in 1984 to help meet the special needs of area children and last year raised $75,000 for 10 local children's programs.

In addition to decorated trees, the event features continuous live entertainment, a train display, visits with Santa and handcrafted gifts. New features this year include a Gingerbread Lane and an enlarged children's crafts and games area. Gingerbread contributions also are being accepted.

To volunteer and for vendor or other information, call 446-2858 or volunteer online at www.treefest.com.

Volunteers can help set up trees, work in sales booths or the children's craft area or help deliver trees to homes and businesses after the festival.
