INVERNESS -- Incumbent Brenda Buzby and newcomers Gerald Kelley and Keith Anderson won seats Tuesday on the Citrus County Mosquito Control Board.
The board has three seats. All candidates are elected countywide in nonpartisan elections.
Taking Seat 1 was Buzby, 47, of Homosassa, who owns and operates her own small pest control business. She has served on the board since 1990.
Kelley, 59, of Crystal River, took Seat 2. He is a retired transportation company employee.
Anderson, 68, of Homosassa Springs, took Seat 3. He is a former worker for the Collier County Mosquito Control District and later served two years as a board member for that district.
The board oversees local mosquito control efforts, such as chemical spraying and bio-control methods. The board sets policy that the 20-member staff carries out.
The board has a $1.7-million budget. Revenue to support that budget comes from a special tax assessed against property owners.
