Business committee honors arts donors

TAMPA -- The Tampa Bay Business Committee for the Arts honored area businesses and individuals for their support of the arts at its annual dinner Thursday at the Hyatt Regency Westshore.

TAMPA -- The Tampa Bay Business Committee for the Arts honored area businesses and individuals for their support of the arts at its annual dinner Thursday at the Hyatt Regency Westshore.

The business winners are:

Star Graphics Group, for providing design and printing services to Mahaffey Theater Foundation and LiveArts Peninsula Foundation.

Nurses Choice Inc., for underwriting performances at Ruth Eckerd Hall and providing financial support to local museums and cultural events.

Verizon Communications, for its major financial support of the Florida Orchestra's outreach program and additional contributions to many other arts groups.

Tiffany & Co., for providing gift items to fundraisers for organizations, including the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, Museum of Science and Industry, Tampa Museum of Art, Salvador Dali Museum and the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.

Individual winners are:

Dorothy Webb of Loftsville, who has provided monetary and technical support to groups, including the Arts Center and Palladium.

Bob Glaser of Smith & Associates, who has contributed financially and provided office support to the Tampa Theater.

Bill Habermeyer of Florida Power, for contributions to the Salvador Dali Museum, American Stage, Florida Orchestra, Florida International Museum, St. Petersburg College and Dunedin Fine Art Center.

Dr. Richard E. and Mary B. Perry, for their support of the Museum of Fine Arts and the Tampa Museum of Art.

Each winner received a sculptural shadow box created by artist Margaret Steward.
