Zoning: Swimming center expected to be approvedBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published November 10, 2002 Hillsborough County commissioners are scheduled to vote on the following requests at Tuesday's land-use meeting. LUTZ: The commission is expected to approve plans for a 7,000-square-foot swimming center on 1.5 acres on Dale Mabry Highway, south of Holly Lane. The Seal Swim School facility, which also offers swim lessons at two other Hillsborough locations, would include a pool, changing area and administrative office. (Petition 02-0764) NORTHDALE: Northdale Evangelical Church wants to build a private school next to its sanctuary on Mapledale Boulevard. If approved, the school would serve up to 100 children in kindergarten through eighth grade. (Petition 02-1371) ODESSA: Jon and Cathy Tileston are seeking permission to move their Carrollwood law office to a .82-acre site at the northwest corner of Gunn Highway and Donna Lu Drive. The pair plan to convert a duplex and home now on the parcel into Tileston Properties. (Petition 02-1045) ODESSA: Beazer Homes wants to change the setback conditions placed on its 40-home Lake Leta Trace subdivision, now under construction at the southeast corner of Wilcox and Hutchison roads. According to the petition, the development company has built the community's barrier wall 7 feet closer than the county's minimum 30-foot requirement from the right of way. (Petition 02-1411) UPPER TAMPA BAY: Hunt and Hunt Properties will ask commissioners to approve development plans for an industrial office park on Hillsborough Avenue, west of Double Branch Road. The board had previously approved the development without calculating the second-story floor space of a proposed 75,000-square-foot warehouse building. The request also seeks to change building height within the park. (Petition 02-1306) CARROLLWOOD: Mobley Homes wants to reduce the rear setbacks for several homes within an approved subdivision off Hutchison Road, south of Rawls Road. The developers said smaller homes would be built on the lots if the county doesn't approve the change. (Petition 02-1368) KEYSTONE: Commissioners will be asked to postpone discussion of a proposed 1,681-acre equestrian community off Tarpon Springs Road. The applicant wants a continuance to the Feb. 25 land-use hearing.
