THE BUCS: Brad and Keyshawn Johnson and friends really opened things up against the Vikings. It's great they have an extra week to prepare for the Panthers. We know what the Bucs can do against a team with a very good offense and no defense to speak of. Now they face a team with an exceptional defense and a pathetic offense. Remember 12-9 in Carolina two weeks ago? Phew!
JAKE PORTER: The mentally handicapped youth at Northwest High in Ohio practiced every day with the football team and dressed out for every game but never played. After his coach made a deal with an opposing coach to let him take a knee at the end of a 42-0 game, the opponent made a counterproposal: His team would let Jake score. It was the most glorious 49-yard touchdown run ever.
LIGHTNING POWER PLAY: After the team's hot start, it suffered a power (play) failure. Entering Friday's game, the Lightning ranked 20th in the league with a 14.1 power play percentage. That early success makes us want more.
