TAMPA -- A woman was found dead Tuesday afternoon at her apartment near the University of South Florida.

Police are calling the death at New Horizons apartments, 12718 N 19th St., suspicious. They have not confirmed the victim's identity and have not released the cause of death, but are asking for the public's help in locating a turquoise 1993 Toyota Corolla with front end damage.

Records show the sedan is registered to 58-year-old Lynn L. Van Der Meulen of the same address. The car has a handicapped parking permit hanging from its rearview mirror and a Florida license plate number of HT146W.

"Finding the car will be a big step," said Lt. Rod Reder of the Hillsborough Sheriff's Office.

Neighbors said the woman found dead moved to the university area complex four or five months ago.

-- Times researcher John Martin contributed to this report.
