Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Edward L. Davidson Jr., son of Emma Baynard of St. Petersburg, recently received the Navy Good Conduct Medal and was promoted to his current rank. He is serving aboard the destroyer USS O'Bannon. His homeport is Mayport. Davidson is a 1999 graduate of Lakewood High School and joined the Navy in June 1999.

Airman Crystal Cerasani, daughter of Larry and Sheryl Cerasani of St. Petersburg, has been deployed to Masiah Island, Oman, Saudi Arabia. Cerasani completed basic training in 2000 and has served at Patrick Air Force Base, Cocoa Beach, for two years. She is a 2000 graduate of Boca Ciega High School.

Marine Corps Pfc. Zayne C. Taber, son of Rose M. Taber of Jacksonville and Lance C. Taber of St. Petersburg, has completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. He is a 1999 graduate of Northeast High School.

Sgt. Jacob A. Sforza, son of Randy and Deborah Sforza of Kenneth City and grandson of James and Evelyn Sforza of St. Petersburg, recently began a four-year tour in Alaska. Previously assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, N.C., he was sent to Kosovo in April 1999 and to Egypt in July 2000. He completed basic training at Fort Benning, Ga., in 1998 and attended jump school.

3rd Class Petty Officer George W. Myers III, son of George W. Myers Jr. of St. Petersburg and Laura Myers of Port Richey, graduated as the top honor graduate from Yorktown, Va., in August 2002 and was promoted to his current rank. He will be stationed in Jacksonville as a marine science technician. He joined the Coast Guard in April 2001 and is a 2000 graduate of North East High School.

Pfc. Sean S. Bargar, son of Stephen and Donna Bargar of St. Petersburg, graduated in September from Army Basic Training and Advanced Infantry Training at Fort Benning, Ga, where he will serve his first tour of duty. He is a 2002 graduate of Dixie Hollins High School.
