NEW YORK -- Jaguars running back Fred Taylor was fined $10,000 by the NFL for making a "slashing of the throat gesture" against the Redskins last weekend, his second such punishment this season.
Taylor was docked $5,000 for making the same motion after scoring a touchdown against the Chiefs on Sept. 15, league spokesman Steve Alic said Saturday.
In Jacksonville's 26-7 victory over Washington, Taylor drew a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct for gesturing after a touchdown run in the third quarter.
The fine was doubled because it was Taylor's second offense.
GIANTS: Wide receiver Derek Dorris was signed and Tony Simmons was waived.
RAMS: Running back Marshall Faulk missed practice for the third straight day and coach Mike Martz is leaning toward holding him out of Monday night's game against the Bears. "I'm very pessimistic about him playing," Martz said. "I would guess he would not play."
