By Times staff writer Purse-snatching leads to a morning arrestNEW PORT RICHEY -- A 22-year-old New Port Richey man faces a charge of robbery and aggravated assault after witnesses told Pasco County sheriff's deputies that he cut a woman's purse with a knife and stole it. Ronald Matlock, 6335 Pennsylvania Ave., was arrested at 4 a.m. Sunday. According to his arrest report, witnesses identified Matlock as the man who went into Walgreens at 7420 State Road 54 at 9:30 p.m. and stole the purse. Three witnesses followed Matlock before losing him. They later identified him as the thief, the report said. Matlock was held without bail at the Land O'Lakes jail Sunday night. 18-year-old man arrested, faces robbery chargePORT RICHEY -- An 18-year-old Port Richey man was arrested Saturday afternoon and faces an armed robbery charge from an incident in which, deputies said, he used a gun to steal Valium from a man in a Kash n' Karry parking lot. Kenneth Primrose, 10821 Kingsbridge Road, was arrested at his home at 3:49 p.m. Saturday afternoon by Pasco County Sheriff's deputies. According to his arrest report, witnesses said Primrose got into a man's car and pulled out what looked like a handgun or a pellet gun. The victim told deputies that Primrose said: "Give me all your s---." The victim handed over a bottle of Valium, accounts say. Primrose, according to the report, told deputies that he never had a gun and was there to buy prescription painkillers from the victim. Primrose was taken to the Land O'Lakes jail, where he was held on $25,000 bail Sunday night. Report: Man refused to turn over dogs to deputiesPORT RICHEY -- A 47-year old man who refused to turn over his two dogs after they mauled a neighbor's puppy to death faces a charge of battery on a law enforcement officer from when Pasco County Sheriff's deputies claim he shut a door on an officer's arm. Thomas Green, 9726 Gray Fox Lane, was arrested at 4:59 p.m. Saturday afternoon. According to his arrest report, Green pulled up to 9736 Gray Fox Lane, where deputies were investigating the puppy's death. The report said he ignored a deputy while swearing. The report said Green admitted the two boxer dogs involved in the mauling were his, refused to cooperate with the investigation and got into his black Chevrolet Tahoe and sped off, the tires kicking dirt at a deputy. Later, animal control officers said they were going to confiscate the dogs, according to the report, and deputies said Green told them "You're not taking my dogs." He later told his son to "go get the gun and shoot them (the dogs) in the house," the report said. Deputies said Green then went toward his house, and he shut a glass door that hit a deputy on the arm. The report said Green was pepper sprayed and then arrested. Green was taken to the Land O'Lakes jail, facing charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest without violence. He was released on $5,500 bail Saturday night.
