BELLEAIR BEACH -- An overflow crowd on Monday urged the City Council to scrap its plans to regulate the number and kind of boats that can be kept or docked on residential property.

BELLEAIR BEACH -- An overflow crowd on Monday urged the City Council to scrap its plans to regulate the number and kind of boats that can be kept or docked on residential property.

They didn't get their wish, but they did delay any action, at least for now. The council returned the proposed ordinance to a subcommittee with instructions to better define "personal watercraft" and consider issues raised by the boat owners. No date was set for reconsideration of the dock ordinance.
