Police chased a stolen car from Oldsmar to Tampa on Thursday at speeds reaching 75 mph, but no one was hurt.

The pursuit started about 5:40 p.m. in Oldsmar, where a Pinellas sheriff's deputy tried to pull over a stolen white sedan at Tampa Road and Forest Lake Boulevard.

The stolen car sped east on Tampa Road, with patrol cars and a helicopter in pursuit, said Pinellas sheriff's spokesman Cal Dennie.

The car entered Tampa, where it finally stopped on Nebraska Avenue near Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard, Dennie said.

A man in a white T-shirt bailed out of the car and disappeared into a nearby neighborhood. Authorities cordoned off the area and were searching for the man Thursday night.
