Eight bed and breakfast inns in South Pinellas will hold a Holiday Taste and Tour from 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 8.

The inns will partner with area restaurants to provide refreshments.

Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 on tour day, and may be purchased at the bed and breakfasts, which are members of the St. Petersbug Area Association of Bed and Breakfast Inns. Proceeds will support the Academy Prep Center for Education and the Robert Ray Defibrillator Fund.

Robert Ray, proprietor with his wife, Rose Marie, of Mansion House Bed and Breakfast, died last summer of a heart attack at North Shore Pool. The fund will provide heart defibrillators at public pools and recreational facilities.

The inns will showcase their historic architecture, holiday decorations and tastes of the cuisine from area restaurants. In addition, a harpist will perform at Bayboro House; local author Scott Taylor Hartzell will autograph his new book, St. Petersburg: An Oral History, at Dickens House. All the inns will sell the association's recipe book, with recipes for their breakfast and other specials, for $10.

Participating inns and restaurants are:

  • Bayboro House, 1719 Beach Drive SE, St. Petersburg; Mattison's restaurant.
  • Dickens House, 335 Eighth Ave. NE, St. Petersburg; Julian's at the Heritage.
  • La Veranda, 111 Fifth Ave. N, St. Petersburg; Mattison's.
