Southern Illinois coverage pleases local Saluki alumni

© St. Petersburg Times
published November 24, 2002

You made our day. And not only our day but the days of about 3,000 Southern Illinois alumni in the Central Florida region.

My wife and I loved the article on the Salukis (March to Madness, Nov. 17). We have a Central Florida Salukis Alumni Chapter based in the Tampa Bay area (geocities.com/cfsalukis/). We are excited about the season and look forward to your articles.

We would love to see our Dawgs here in Tampa Bay.
-- Terry Gannon, St. Pete Beach

Baseball withdrawal

Please, oh please, start counting the number of days remaining until catchers and pitchers report for spring training. I'm having baseball withdrawal.

My son's Junior Little League team only has one game remaining.

What am I going to do until February and March?
-- Pat May, Largo
