Hundreds without water Friday night

WESLEY CHAPEL -- A pipe break interrupted water for hundreds of homes in the Meadow Pointe neighborhood Friday night. Crews had fixed the problem pipe by Saturday morning, although some households noticed discoloration in their water. It was the second break in November on pipes coming from the Cypress Bridge water treatment plant on County Line Road. As for the cause of the break, the county utilities department couldn't be reached for comment.

Burglar strikes Hungry Harry's

LAND O'LAKES -- A well-known Land O'Lakes restaurant on U.S. 41 was burglarized Thanksgiving night by a thief wielding a sledgehammer. Hungry Harry's, known for its wood-smoked barbecued pork and chicken, lost about $550 in cash and $600 worth of video surveillance equipment, a sheriff's report said. Owner Harry Wright told deputies he and his family had worked late making barbecued turkeys. The burglar broke in sometime between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m., using a sledgehammer to batter down an office door.
