Florida coach Ron Zook, on Florida State:

"Offensively they played extremely well. They're a good football team."

* * *

Zook, in response if a gag order he imposed on his players leading up to the game worked:

"I thought we were focused."

* * *

Zook, on wide receiver Taylor Jacobs, who returned from an injury:

"I thought he played well. I'm proud of him."

* * *

Zook, on quarterback Rex Grossman's performance:

"He took it to another level today."

* * *

Florida running back Ciatrick Fason:

"Kicking field goals, that doesn't help a team win."

* * *

Florida offensive guard Shannon Snell:

"We played hard. I can't say anything else. ... They came out here and kicked our butts."

* * *

Florida State coach Bobby Bowden:

"We finally looked like Florida State. ... This was a very satisfying win. I don't know how long it has been since we needed a win that bad."

* * *

Florida State quarterback Chris Rix:

"It started to get emotional for me on our last drive. We knew coming in if we didn't turn the ball over we'd have a good chance to win the game."

* * *

FSU defensive end Alonzo Jackson:

"After having the trying season that we've had, you always want to go out as winner in your home stadium, the stadium you've played in four years. I just wanted to go out a winner. Doing that against the University of Florida, who's a good football team, I mean it's great."

* * *

FSU linebacker Kendyll Pope, on his interception return for a touchdown:

"Ever since I've been here, I have been waiting for that moment and I finally got it. The defense just came out and played great tonight. With all the things that happened to us at the beginning of the week, we didn't let that distract us and ruin our focus. Once you break Florida down and make them one-dimensional, you pretty much have them beat."

* * *

Zook, on how his team will respond after the loss:

"These guys are going to bounce back. ... They've been through it once."

* * *

Washington, on the rivalry:

"Of course you're a little nervous before each football game, but I wasn't any more nervous tonight than I usually am playing a game."

* * *

Rix, on the win:

"This team has gone through a lot this week. A lot of people don't know what Coach Bowden has had to go through. It feels good to be able to get a win over Florida for Coach Bowden."

* * *

Washington, on if this win saved Florida State's season:

"Definitely."

* * *

Rix, on the offense:

"I have to give credit to the offensive line and the receivers. They were outstanding tonight."

* * *

FSU receiver Anquan Boldin:

"A situation like that can make you or break you. We've been battling this stuff all year. It was just a matter of pride. We wanted this bad."
