ARCHITECTURE

Harvard Jolly Clees Toppe Architects, St. Petersburg, announced the following promotions: Ward J. Friszolowski and Alex F. Gonzalez, to senior vice presidents, both were vice presidents; andJacquelynSpears, who serves as director of interior design, to senior associate from associate.

FINANCE

SAFCO, Clearwater, announced the following appointment and promotion. Mike Ellis has been named Central Florida buyer.Kelly Ray has been promoted to marketing manager. Ellis was a general manager for Anything on Wheels, Orlando; Ray was an assistant manager in the collections department.

HEALTH CARE

H. Lee Moffitt Cancer & Research Center, Tampa, announced the following promotion and appointments. Linda Davenport has been promoted to affiliate research manager. Davenport was an affiliate research coordinator. Appointments: Miriam Bell, to the state of Florida reducing racial and ethnic health disparities advisory committee; and Dr. Julio Pow-Sang, to president-elect of the Confederacion Americana de Urologia, an organization representing urologists from Central and South America, Spain and Portugal. Bell is manager of patient relations and patient education; Pow-Sang is program leader of the genitourinary oncology program.

The University of South Florida College of Medicine announced the following appointments: Dr. Michael Hoffmann, associate professor of neurology and director of the USF stroke program; andDr. Ali Malek, assistant professor of neurology and medical director of the neurointensive care unit at Tampa General Hospital. Hoffmann was co-director of the stroke program and directed the neurovascular laboratory at the University of Kentucky's Chandler Medical Center; Malek just completed a two-year fellowship in vascular critical care neurology from the University of Alabama, Birmingham.

LEGAL

Anthony S. Battaglia has been included in the Best Lawyers in America. Battaglia is founding partner of the law firm Battaglia, Ross, Dicus & Wein, St. Petersburg.

Hans Christian Beyer has been named a partner at the law firm of Salem Saxon, Tampa. Beyer had a private practice in Tampa.

Luis Prats has been elected president-elect of the Stetson University Alumni Association. Prats is a managing shareholder at the law firm of Carlton Fields, Tampa.

Seth L. Rodner has rejoined the law firm of Fowler White Boggs Banker, Tampa, as a shareholder. Rodner was a federal prosecutor with the national criminal enforcement section of the U.S. Department of Justice's antitrust division, Washington, D.C.

MARKETING

The Xposure Group Inc., Tampa, announced the formation of its advisory board: Dr. Hemant Rustogi, Kevin Kalwary, Steven F. Holub, John Curry, Barry M. Horstman, William P. Martin and Lee Tobin. Rustogi is chairman-associate professor of the University of Tampa's John H. Sykes College of Business and founder and CEO of the Brandon Montessorri School, Tampa; Kalwary is an investigator with the law firm of Cohen, Jayson and Foster, Tampa; Holub is a shareholder and senior tax specialist with the accounting firm of Aidman, Piser & Co., Tampa; Curry is an entrepreneur specializing in financial services, Cincinnati; Horstman is special projects reporter and city editor for the Cincinnati Post, Cincinnati; Martin is a registered representative with Mutual Service Corp., Tampa; and Tobin is president of All American Containers Inc., Tampa.

ORGANIZATIONS

The Centre for Women, Tampa, announced its officers for the 2003 board of directors: Debra Koehler, president; John M. Barrett, vice president of development; Debbie Thomas, vice president of programming; Joseph C. Dominguez, secretary; and Norman Campbell, treasurer. RECRUITMENT

Clay Kelley has been promoted to vice president of sales and marketing for AdvanTech Solutions, Tampa. Kelley was Midwest regional president.

RETIREMENT

Aaron J. Catoe has been promoted to director of community relations at Pinecrest Place, Largo for Horizon Bay Management. Catoe was director of community relations for Treemont Retirement Community in Dallas.

SPORTS

Carrie Johnson has been named Rawlings Woman Executive of the Year by the Florida State League. Johnson is assistant general manager for the Dunedin Blue Jays.

UTILITIES

Lynne Craver has been named vice president of network operations for Progress Telecom, St. Petersburg. Craver was the director of network engineering and planning.
