Boat parades
By Times staff writer -- Boca Ciega Yacht Club: 17th Annual Christmas Boat Parade -- Saturday. Begins at 6 p.m. at the Boca Ciega Yacht Club, 4600 Tifton St. S. The parade will arrive at Gulfport Municipal Marina at 6:30 p.m.; Broadwater subdivision at 7 p.m.; Maximo Marina at 7:30 p.m.; Gulfport Pier at 7:45 p.m.; Town Shores Condominiums at 8; Pasadena Yacht and Country Club at 8:30; and returns to the Boca Ceiga Yacht Club. Call 867-8397 or 570-9000 for information. -- St. Petersburg: Annual Lighted Boat Parade -- Saturday. Begins at 6:45 p.m. at Bayboro Harbor and travels north with prime viewing locations along the Vinoy Basin in downtown St. Petersburg. The parade will coincide with holiday festivities starting at 6 p.m. at the Pier and Straub Park. Call 821-6443 for information. -- Treasure Island: 17th Annual Christmas Boat Parade -- Monday. Celebration begins at 4:30 p.m. at the Treasure Island Tennis and Yacht Club and will include food and a visit from Santa. The parade leaves the Yacht Club basin at 6:30 p.m., passes through the Treasure Island toll bridge at 7 p.m. and proceeds north to John's Pass. An awards party will be held after the parade with NewsChannel 8 anchor Bob Hite as grand marshal. Bring a new toy for the Christmas Toy Workshop to the Treasure Island City Hall by Monday to receive a pass to attend the events at the Yacht Club and for a good view of the parade. Begins at 6 p.m. at Great American Marine, 6810 Gulfport Blvd. The parade route includes Pasadena Isle, Habitat Extension Park, Harbourside, Bay Island, Causeway Village, and ends back at Great American Marine. Call 347-4171 for information. -- Tierra Verde: Lighted Boat Parade -- Dec. 12. Begins at sundown at Marker 10, Pass-a-Grille Harbor. The parade will head north, passing through the Tierra Verde bridge, and then south along the east side of Tierra Verde. It returns the same way, passing through the bridge and continuing to Shell Island. The parade ends at Billy's Stone Crab, 1120 Pinellas Bayway. For information, call Billy Moore, 542-3900. -- Indian Rocks Beach: 16th Annual Holiday Lighted Boat Parade -- Dec. 13. Begins at 6:45 p.m. at Holiday Inn Harbourside, 401 Second St. The parade will head north under the Indian Rocks Bridge and finish at the north end of the city limits off Harbor Drive S. Begins at 6:30 p.m. behind City Hall, 300 Municipal Drive, and heads south toward John's Pass. Call 391-9951 for information. -- Indian Shores and Redington Beaches: Christmas Boat Parade -- Dec. 15. Begins at 6 p.m. at the docks at the Pub, 20025 Gulf Blvd., Indian Shores. The parade will head south down the Intracoastal Waterway, winding through the three Redingtons. Public viewing areas are the Estelle Harper Park behind the Indian Shores Town Hall and the Pinellas County Boat Launch at Park Boulevard. An awards ceremony will be held at the Estelle Harper Park pavilion following the parade and is open to all. Rain date is Dec. 16.
