ST. PETERSBURG -- The entrance ramp from northbound Dr. M.L. King (Ninth) Street N to eastbound Interstate 275 will close this morning and will remain closed for at least seven months. The ramp is one of three key routes from northern St. Petersburg to Tampa.

While the ramp is closed, motorists can use the Roosevelt Boulevard ramp and the newly reopened ramp from northbound Fourth Street N for interstate access.

The closure of the Ninth Street ramp is for reconstruction in connection with the widening of the interstate between Roosevelt and the Howard Frankland Bridge. The exit from the westbound interstate to southbound Dr. M.L. King (Ninth Street) also is closed and is not expected to reopen until mid 2004.
