Glazed Apple Cookies
Icing:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. For dough, sift flour, baking soda, salt and spices together, and set aside. Cream shortening and brown sugar; add egg. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with apple juice or milk. Fold in chopped nuts, raisins and apples. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, then remove from cookie sheet. For icing, cream powdered sugar and butter; add milk or apple juice, salt and maple flavoring. Mix until spreading consistency.
