GAINESVILLE -- Led by freshman Sara Lowe's 18 points, the Gators beat the Hurricanes 76-67 Tuesday night at the O'Connell Center.
Florida has won eight straight against Miami and extended its winning streak against state opponents to 42.
Florida's freshmen continued to contribute, combining for 56 points, 28 rebounds and 15 assists. For the third time this season a freshman led the Gators in scoring, as Lowe turned in a career-best performance that included nine rebounds, seven assists and four steals.
Three other freshmen -- Brittany Davis (13), Danielle Santos (13) and Bernice Mosby (10) -- scored in double figures.
Florida outrebounded Miami 53-39. Hayden led the team with 11 rebounds.
Before the game, Florida sophomore Tishona Gregory's suspension was lifted by coach Carolyn Peck.
Gregory, who had been suspended indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team since Nov. 21, participated in a shoot-around before the game.
Gregory was expected to be the starting point guard this season but had competition from Lowe, the starter in each game this season. Peck did not say what Gregory's infractions were.
FSU 58, INDIANA 47: Junior Tasheika Morris scored 15 to lead the Seminoles at the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center.
"This was a big win for us tonight," Florida State coach Sue Semrau said. "Anytime you can go head to head with one of the bigger conferences and come up with a win, it's really nice."
FSU's defense held Indiana to 29 percent shooting.
Florida State plays at South Florida at 7 p.m. Saturday.
NO. 19 BYU 75, S. UTAH 44: Erin Thorn scored 24 on eight 3-pointers to lead the visiting Cougars. Thorn shot 7-for-8 from 3-point range for 21 of BYU's 41 first-half points.
NO. 23 S. CAROLINA 75, GA. SOUTHERN 54: Jocelyn Penn had 26 points and 11 rebounds as the host Gamecocks overcame sloppy play.
