Zahn hospitalized after skiing accident

CNN anchor Paula Zahn is in good spirits after breaking a bone below her knee while skiing over the weekend, a CNN spokeswoman said Wednesday.

The American Morning host will be out for the rest of this week, Christa Robinson said.

Zahn was injured while skiing during the Thanksgiving weekend in Aspen, Colo.

Zahn underwent surgery to insert screws and a metal plate in the knee area, said Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN's medical correspondent, who spoke about the injury on Zahn's show Wednesday.

Board names 'The Hours' best movie

The Hours, starring Meryl Streep, Julianne Moore and Nicole Kidman, is the year's best movie, according to the National Board of Review of Motion Pictures.

Based on Michael Cunningham's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, the film follows three women in three eras who are tied to Virginia Woolf's Mrs. Dalloway.

Moore also won the board's best-actress award for Far From Heaven.

The National Board of Review awards represent the first step in anticipating Academy Award winners, but usually aren't in step with Oscar voters.
