BROOKSVILLE -- The Hernando Performing Arts Center Guild will present an evening of holiday magic and yuletide cheer tonight.

"A Night of Comedy and Magic" will feature entertainer Chris Michaels, who will perform a comedic rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow and a musical number complete with bagpipes and a kilt.

Putting a new spin on the concept of dueling banjos, Michaels pits his miniature piccolo banjo against his standard five-string instrument.

He has performed with the Mickey Finn Show and at Sea World, Walt Disney World, Knott's Berry Farm and Cypress Gardens. He was also a winner on The Gong Show.

Magicians Dale Scott and Ana, billed as "the Future of Magic," have performed for cruise lines and casinos.

Their show includes large-scale, futuristic illusions and special effects and has been featured at corporate events for the Las Vegas Hilton, Motorola and General Electric.

"This is something a little different," said Barbara Ferraro, a member of the guild's entertainment committee. "It's almost like getting two shows for the price of one."

The performance begins at 7 p.m. today at the Hernando High School Performing Arts Center, 700 Bell Ave., Brooksville. Tickets are $18. Call 799-5577.
