PHILADELPHIA -- Michal Handzus' penalty-shot goal in overtime was not only a new experience for him, but a relatively new one overall.

Handzus became the second player to score an overtime goal on a penalty shot when he beat the Rangers' Dan Blackburn with 36.7 seconds left Thursday in Philadelphia's 3-2 victory.

"Back home we don't play overtime," said Handzus, who grew up in Slovakia.

Nashville's David Legwand is the only other player to score on an overtime penalty shot. He beat the Rangers on Dec.23, 2000.

The Rangers' Bobby Holik scored after missing 18 games with a hip flexor. And Eric Lindros tied it for New York with 2:00 left in the second.

BRUINS 4, THRASHERS 3 (OT): Glen Murray scored 1:53 into overtime for the host Bruins. After Boston scored three goals during the first 3:42 of the second, including two in 10 seconds, Atlanta answered with three goals in 1:59 late in the second.

WINGS 5, COYOTES 3: Darren McCarty and Brendan Shanahan scored during the first 97 seconds for visiting Detroit. McCarty's goal came 18 seconds in on the Wings' first shot. Shanahan scored on Detroit's second.

BLUES 2, SENATORS 2: Marian Hossa scored on his own rebound with 1:06 left for visiting Ottawa. With St. Louis' Bryce Salvador off for a double minor, Hossa's shot from the point was stopped. But the left side of the net was open for Hossa's backhand rebound.

PREDATORS 3, KINGS 2: Andy Delmore and Adam Hall scored power-play goals for visiting Nashville. The Predators have at least one power-play goal in all five victories with two coming in overtime.

WILD 1, FLAMES 1: Roman Turek stopped 34 shots, including one on a breakaway during overtime, for host Calgary. Rob Niedermayer gave Calgary the lead 37 seconds into the game. But Andrew Brunette tied it with 6:33 left in the first.

ALL-STAR VOTING: Colorado's Joe Sakic, Rob Blake and Patrick Roy are in line to start for the West. Sakic leads centers. Roy leads goalies, and Blake is second among defensemen. San Jose's Teemu Selanne and Dallas' Brett Hull lead at wing. Detroit's Nicklas Lidstrom leads defensemen.

TEAM VALUES: At $266-million, the Red Wings are the most valuable franchise, Forbes reported. The Rangers, No.1 last year, are second at $263-million. Edmonton ($86-million) and Buffalo ($92-million) are the least valuable. BLACKHAWKS: Right wing Theo Fleury was cleared to play after serving a seven-week suspension for violating his substance-abuse aftercare program. Fleury is expected to be in the lineup tonight. Also, defenseman Boris Mironov was suspended indefinitely without pay by the team after refusing to attend Tuesday's practice or Wednesday's game. He has asked to be traded.

BLUE JACKETS: Forward Jody Shelley was suspended by the league for one game. He reached over the boards and made contact with the Rangers' Ronald Petrovicky on Tuesday.
