ACCOUNTING

Kirkland, Russ, Murphy & Tapp, P.A., Clearwater, announced the following appointments and promotions. Appointments: Paul C. Dunham and Steven W. Grove, to tax shareholders; and Daniel J. Johnson, senior audit manager. Dunham and Grove were senior tax managers; Johnson was a senior audit manager for Arthur Andersen, Tampa. Promotions: Cindy A. Mull, to senior audit manager; Raymond P. Helgren, to tax manager; and Kevin R. Essex and Robert J. Batz , to audit managers. Mull was an audit manager; Helgren was a taxing supervising senior; and Essex and Batz were audit supervising seniors.

CONSTRUCTION

Elaine Hagan has been named director of business development for TeamBuilders, Tarpon Springs. Hagan was director of sales and business development for Project Management Group, Louisville, Ky.

HEALTH CARE

Dr. Gustavo B. Arrojo has been named medical director for Aston Gardens at the CourtYards, Sun City Center. In addition to his new duties, Arrojo has a private practice with Premier Internal Medicine Associates, Bradenton.

North Bay Hospital, New Port Richey, announced the following appointments: Dr. Helen Harper, to emergency department medical director; and Dr. Mel Stewart Jacoby, to director of radiology. Harper served as medical director of emergency at Town 'N Country Hospital, Tampa; and Jacoby was a staff radiologist at Park Ridge Hospital, Rochester, N.Y.

LEGAL

Sylvia H. Walbolt has been appointed chairwoman of the access to justice and legal services committee for 2002-03 by the American College of Trial Lawyers. Walbolt is a shareholder and chairwoman of the board of directors for the law firm of Carlton Fields, St. Petersburg.

NONPROFIT

The Resource Center for Women, Largo, announced the following appointments: Susan Olsen, to executive director; and Dr. Ruth Brunett, to program manager. Olsen was the IT program coordinator for the Resource Center's WANTO grant, and TechForce Connection; Brunett was president of Stellar Resources Inc., California.

Philip Wiechmann has been named chief executive for Gulfside Regional Hospice Inc., formerly Hospice of Pasco. Wiechmann was program director for Hospice of the Florida Suncoast.

ORGANIZATIONS

The Police Athletic League of St. Petersburg has announced its officers for 2002-03: James S. Henderson, president; Mary Ann Renfrow, first vice president; Christopher C. Ferguson, second vice president; Ed Schatzman, secretary; Samuel Blossom, assistant secretary; George Hoskinson, treasurer; and Lee Warnock, assistant treasurer. Henderson is senior vice president for Acordia, Clearwater; Renfrow is a St. Petersburg resident; Ferguson is a lawyer with a private practice in St. Petersburg; Schatzman is vice president of AAA Auto Club South, St. Petersburg; Blossom is a retired educator, St. Petersburg; Hoskinson is the automotive services administration director of AAA Auto Club South, St. Petersburg; and Warnock is retired from the photographic industry, St. Petersburg. Also included as officers were: Chuck Harmon, honorary executive director; Officer Lerric Boyd, executive director; and Officer Thomas Manning, director of operations. Harmon is the St. Petersburg chief of police; and Boyd and Manning are on the St. Petersburg police force.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Aerial Innovations Inc., Tampa, announced the following appointments: Kristin Hitchcock, to sales account executive; and Katherine Morgan, to marketing and sales account executive. Hitchcock recently graduated from the University of South Florida; and Morgan was the marketing communications manager for Notara, New York.

REAL ESTATE

Sue Flaig has been elected president of the Women's Council of Realtors for 2003. Flaig is a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate Inc., Clearwater.

RECRUITING

Mac Lewis has been appointed to the board of directors of the Tampa Bay-Central Florida chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants. Lewis is a recruiting manager for Taylor White, St. Petersburg.
