By Times staff writer Man accused of battery, damaging two carsNEW PORT RICHEY -- A 41-year-old New Port Richey man was facing charges of aggravated battery, burglary and criminal mischief after witnesses told Pasco County Sheriff's deputies he slashed someone on the arm and then vandalized two cars. Robert Andrzesewski, 3342 Crete St., was arrested at 9:36 p.m. Saturday at his home. According to his arrest report, Andrzesewski got into an arguement with an unidentified person and went into his house and got a knife while the victim tried to drive away. The report said Andrzesewski reached inside the car and cut the victim's arm. After the victim drove away, Andrzesewski broke out windows on two cars and slashed four tires, according to the report. Andrzesewski was taken to the Land O'Lakes jail, where he was being held on $31,000 bail Sunday night. Interstate accident kills Wesley Chapel manWESLEY CHAPEL -- A 24-year-old Wesley Chapel man was killed on Interstate 75 early Saturday when the car he was driving struck the rear of a car he was following and both cars skidded out of control, the Florida Highway Patrol reported. Christopher C. Helbing of 5206 Spectacular Blvd. was killed after his car struck a tree off the interstate a mile south of State Road 54 at 6:48 a.m. Saturday. According to the FHP, the right front end of Helbing's car struck the left rear of a car driven by Michael Basin, 42, 4213 Chase Drive, Wesley Chapel. Both cars went off the interstate, and Helbing's car struck a tree. Helbing was not wearing a seat belt, a report said.
