VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Brendan Morrison and Daniel Sedin scored power-play goals as the Canucks overcame Joe Sakic's 500th career goal for a 3-1 victory over the Avalanche on Wednesday night.

Dan Cloutier made 26 saves for the Canucks, who snapped a two-game losing streak and moved back into first place in the Northwest Division with their 12th win in 15 games. Patrick Roy made several spectacular stops and finished with 25 saves, but it wasn't enough for the Avalanche, who have one win in their last six games.

Sakic, who grew up in the nearby suburb of Burnaby, picked up his milestone goal on a power play early in the second period, scoring on a wrist shot off a nifty pass from Derek Morris at 4:25. He received a standing ovation from the sellout crowd of 18,422. Play was halted, and Sakic's teammates came off the bench to congratulate him as he waved to his parents in the stands.

KINGS 3, STARS 0: Jason Allison and Adam Deadmarsh had a goal and two assists each, and Jamie Storr got his 14th career shutout as Los Angeles handed Dallas its first home defeat in regulation this season.

Dallas had earned at least a point in each of its first 13 home games, going 10-0-2-1. The Stars had an overtime loss to Florida and ties with the New York Rangers and Detroit.

BLACKHAWKS 4, RANGERS 3: Theo Fleury scored in his return to Madison Square Garden and Eric Daze added three goals in Chicago's victory.

The Rangers lost their fourth straight.

Fleury has goals in three of his four games this season and points in every contest since returning from an NHL suspension that resulted from a violation of his substance-abuse aftercare program.

The Blackhawks acquired St. Louis center Mike Eastwood off waivers earlier in the day, giving Chicago a solid faceoff man in his 12th NHL season.

COYOTES 4, THRASHERS 2: Shane Doan scored a tiebreaking goal early in the third period, and goaltender Brian Boucher made 16 saves as Phoenix rallied from a 2-0 deficit for its first home win in 10 games (1-4-4-1). Atlanta is 0-7 against the Coyotes.

OILERS 4, HURRICANES 1: Mike York scored two goals and Tommy Salo stopped 36 shots as host Edmonton scored three goals in an 11-minute span of the second period and won its third straight.

ALL-STAR VOTING: Mario Lemieux leads the Eastern Conference in fan voting for the Feb. 2 game in Sunrise.

The Penguins' forward, who leads the league with 51 points, received 86,423 votes as of Tuesday. Rangers defenseman Brian Leetch is next with 77,409, followed by Washington's Jaromir Jagr with 65,429.

Tampa Bay's Nikolai Khabibulin leads goalies with 58,846 votes.

Colorado goalie Patrick Roy is the Western Conference leader with 74,212 votes as of Nov. 5.

Fan balloting runs through Dec. 31.

MAPLE LEAFS: Center Harold Druken was acquired on waivers by Toronto, his third NHL team in 41 days. He will join the team for its game in Philadelphia tonight.

THRASHERS: Atlanta activated forward Marc Savard from injured reserve before Wednesday's game against the Coyotes.
