LARGO -- Want a hand in shaping the city's future?

Starting next month, you'll get your chance by attending one of 20 scheduled public meetings of the city's Strategic Planning Committee, the volunteer group charged with making recommendations on how to manage growth and development over the long term.

To make sure residents have their say before the committee, Largo has been divided into 10 zones based on neighborhoods. Two meetings are scheduled in each zone. To find out which zone you are in, contact the Community Development Department at 586-7452.

The city plans a marketing blitz to let residents know about the meetings, including media advertisements and doorknob hangers.

All meetings are held from 6-9 p.m. Following are scheduled meeting dates and locations:

ZONE 1: Jan. 8, Largo Golf Course; Jan. 30, McGough Nature Park
