LARGO -- A 72-year-old New Hampshire woman was struck by a car and killed Monday as she crossed Belcher Road to admire Christmas lights adorning a house.

Police said Constance Whittemore had just stepped off the median about 7:30 p.m. when she was hit by a northbound Camaro driven by Giovanni Mattiello, 33.

Whittemore, her husband and another couple had parked their cars on the west side of Belcher Road, near Kimpton Place, to take in holiday light displays in the neighborhood, police said.

Largo police spokesman Brandon Graham said no charges were filed Monday.
