SEMINOLE -- Nominations for the annual Boss of the Year award and Merit Award winner are being taken by the Greater Seminole Area Chamber of Commerce. Both awards will be presented at the chamber's annual installation banquet Jan. 18 in the Roskamp Auditorium at the Freedom Square retirement complex.

A social hour will begin at 6:30 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m. The complex is at 7800 Liberty Lane.

This is the 22nd year for the Boss of the Year award and the 24th year for the Merit Award, which goes to a chamber member.

Employees of businesses in the greater Seminole area can nominate an individual for Boss of the Year. The recipient will be selected on the basis of sincerity of the nomination and such things as professionalism and rapport with employees. It is not a popularity contest. Neither the size of the company nor number of nominations are used as criteria.

The Merit Award goes to a chamber member who has performed outstanding and meritorious service on the chamber's behalf over a period of years.

People can get nomination forms at the Seminole chamber office, 8400 113th St. N. The deadline to return them is Jan. 10.

Also, reservations for the Jan. 18 banquet are $35 and are due by Jan. 11. Seating is limited. Call 392-3245.
