CITRUS PARK -- While Brandon was surprising in the Premier bracket, county teams did not fare as well in the Elite bracket Saturday.
Bloomingdale (11-1) suffered its first defeat of the season against unbeaten Melbourne Central Catholic 3-0 in an early game. The Hustlers (12-0) blitzed the Bulls for three goals in the first 10 minutes then withstood a furious second-half barrage.
Bloomingdale bounced back later in the day with a 3-0 win over Satellite Beach-Satellite to advance to Monday's fifth-place final.
"This is a tuneup for the whole season," Bulls coach Sam Isajar said. "We know what we have to work with now. We're coming back on Monday."
King (4-3-1) could not keep up its emotion after topping Bradenton Manatee 1-0 Friday. The Lions fell 1-0 to Lake Highland Prep then lost 5-0 to tournament favorite Santa Barbara (Calif.) in a late game.
Jeff Cummings, who scored the winner Friday, and Austin Butler could only find the post and the cross bar Saturday.
Host Jesuit (7-4-1) stumbled early 2-1 against physical Tallahassee Leon before losing by the same score to St. Francis (Calif.) in the late game.
