TAMPA -- Alex Schulte's three-point play with 43.7 seconds left gave host Tampa Prep a 49-48 victory over Hillsborough and a berth in the City of Tampa championship game.
Free throws handcuffed the Terrapins the entire second half as they shot 5 of 25 from the line, but Schulte hit the one that mattered most.
Jerome Fields led the Terriers with 19 in the first half, but was scoreless in the second due to foul trouble.
"You're fortunate when you can shoot 6 for 28 in your own gym and win," Tampa Prep coach Joe Fenlon said. "There's not a lot of opportunities to win like that, but we gave ourselves a chance to win with that tip-in and one."
Tampa Prep will meet Greg Lee and Chamberlain at 4:30 p.m. Monday in the title game.
Lee carried the Chiefs to a 61-42 victory over Tampa Catholic with 25 points. He also pulled down nine rebounds and hit 10 of 14 shots.
Jefferson and Robinson will meet for fifth place 1:30 Monday after picking up wins Saturday. The Knights pulled out a late victory against Blake when Arnaldo Abreu's three-point play with 1:39 remaining capped the 64-54 win and gave the senior a game-high 26. James Williams led Blake with 18.
Jefferson rebounded from Friday's loss to Tampa Catholic to knock off Plant 50-40. Keith Moore paced the Dragons with 14.
