THE LOWDOWN: This is the third of five meetings between the Southeast Division opponents. The series is split, with each winning at home. ... Tampa Bay has lost 10 straight and been outscored 44-14 at Washington since its last win there on Nov. 4, 1998. The Lightning is 5-15-4 overall at Washington, and the Capitals lead the series 32-10-6. ... Washington is led by RW Jaromir Jagr (16 goals) and RW Peter Bondra (13 goals). Since arriving in a trade from Chicago, C Michael Nylander has at least one point in 17 of 23 games. He had two goals in Saturday's win against the Islanders and leads the team with 34 points. ... Tampa Bay C Brad Richards' 10-game streak with at least a point is the longest active streak in the league and is three shy of Brian Bradley's team record. Richards is third in the league with 26 assists. ... The Lightning scored four goals in its past three games despite outshooting opponents 92-73. ...
