The Pasco County legislative delegation has announced the date for its organizational meeting to prepare for the 2003 session.

The public meeting for the delegation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Pasco County School Board offices at 7227 Land O'Lakes Blvd. in Land O'Lakes, according to the office of Sen. Victor Crist, the chairman of the Pasco delegation.

Delegation members have until noon Jan. 13 to file forms listing intended budget requests for community projects during the upcoming session. Also, members of the public must file forms by that date if they want to speak.

To obtain forms, call Brandon Wagner in Crist's office at (813) 975-6658 or e-mail wagner.brandon.s12@flsenate.gov.

The purpose of the meeting is to elect a new chair and vice chair, adopt amendments to the delegation's rules and hear public comments.

"It's a great opportunity to get all the delegates together in one place," Wagner said. "It also ensures that any project that members try to bring home (during the session) sees the light of day."

The delegation includes Crist and Sens. Tom Lee and Mike Fasano; and Reps. Johnnie Byrd, Ken Littlefield, Heather Fiorentino, Dave Russell, Gus Bilirakis and Tom Anderson.
