Last chance to see three exhibits
Three of the most interesting art exhibits of the year are still on view -- but only for a few more days. All three close Jan. 5.
"Photography's Multiple Roles," a traveling exhibit of about 200 images organized by the Museum of Contemporary Photography at Columbia College Chicago, is at the Tampa Museum of Art. It includes Jerry N. Uelsmann's untitled silver gelatin print (1969), above.
"Red Grooms: Selections from the Graphic Work," featuring 130 prints, including a number of three-dimensional and large-scale works, is at the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg.
And "Rodin: a Magnificent Obsession, Sculpture from the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Foundation," a survey of more than 70 works by Auguste Rodin, including versions of some of Rodin's most recognized sculptures, models showing stages of the lost-wax process and bronze studies for Balzac, Burghers of Calais and Gates of Hell, is at the Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota.
