Withlacoochee receding, but more rain forecastBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published December 31, 2002 RIDGE MANOR -- A flood warning remained in effect Monday for the Withlacoochee River, although the water continued receding, dropping to 13.4 feet at Trilby, forecasters said. The area floods when water rises above 12 feet. Forecasters predict a 20 percent chance of rain today, and say any additional water will likely impact residents living along the river in eastern Hernando County. Scattered showers are predicted for Wednesday and clear skies are supposed to return Thursday and stay throughout the weekend. Cyril Drive remained closed on Monday because of flooding and will likely be impassible until later this week, county emergency officials said. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • Tampa Bay Times
