  • BILECKI, HELEN, 89, of Floral City, died Sunday (Dec. 30, 2001) at University Community Hospital, Tampa. She came here in 1970 from her native Stanley, Wis. She was retired from General Electric Refrigeration Division as a factory worker and was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness.   • BROWN, IDA, 74, of Homosassa, formerly of Tampa, died Monday (Dec. 31, 2001) at Homosassa. Born in Chiefland, she came here in 1971 from Tampa. She was a retired administrator at the Florida Nuclear Power Plant in Crystal River and a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Robert, Homosassa; a daughter, Robin Dugan, Point Pleasant, N.J.; her mother, Lois Tanner, Tampa; two sisters, Kathleen Harrison, Blairsville, Ga., and Eloise McKay, Brooksville; and a granddaughter.   • LEMKE, HANS F., 77, of Dunnellon, died Sunday (Dec. 30, 2001) in Dunnellon. Born in Germany, he came here in 1971 from Minnesota. He was a retired self-employed carpenter and an Army veteran of World War II. He loved water, boating and fishing in the gulf. He was a member of St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church.   • DONNELLY, HELEN I., 90, of Spring Hill, died Saturday (Dec. 29, 2001) at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she came here 25 years ago from Budd Lake, N.J.   • ELLIS, ERNEST A., 90, of Spring Hill, died Sunday (Dec. 30, 2001) at home. Born in Montgomery, Ind., he came here 28 years ago from Arlington, Va. He was a retired real estate agent and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a lifetime member of the DAV, VFW and Moose Lodge. He was Protestant.   • FEENER, DORIS LILLIAN, 74, of Spring Hill, died Friday (Dec. 28, 2001) at Tampa General Hospital. Born in Randolph, Mass., she came here 21 years ago from North Salem, N.Y. She retired as an elementary school cafeteria "lunch lady" in North Salem, and was a volunteer at the Library Book Corner in Spring Hill for the past two years. Her hobbies were reading, canning, knitting, crocheting, playing golf and working crossword puzzles. He was retired from the New York City Housing Authority and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus, Flushing, and was a member of the Runner's Club, Spring Hill, the VFW, Flushing, and St. Theresa Catholic Church. He was a retired truck driver and an Army veteran. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 521, Spring Hill, and St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.   • GIDDENS, IRENE, 83, of Plant City, died Sunday (Dec. 30, 2001) at Brandon Regional Hospital. Born in Cecil, Ga., she came here in 1932 from Cecil. She was a clerk at McCrory's Department Store and a member of Northside Baptist Church, both in Plant City. Survivors include her three daughters, Doris Myers, Sandra Giddens and Sarah Nester, all of Plant City; two sisters, Mollie and Helen Rayburn, both of Plant City; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.   • HINSON, MARY EULA, 90, of Plant City, died Monday (Dec. 31, 2001) at Carrollwood Care Center. Born in Hazlehurst, Ga., she came here in 1934 from Hazlehurst. She was a homemaker and a member of Plant City Primitive Baptist Church. During World War II she handed out ration stamps in Miami, and she was strongly involved in politics.     • LEIB, DR. HENRY H., 90, of Clearwater, died Sunday (Dec. 30, 2001) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. He came here in 1981 from his native Chicago. He was a dentist. He was a World War II veteran. He was a member of Temple B'nai Israel, Clearwater, and On Top of the World Kiwanis Club, Clearwater. He was a founding member and past president of Kenwood-Hyde Park Chapter of the Chicago Dental Society and also a lobbyist. He was an artist who specialized in oil painting and sculpting, and he enjoyed bowling and golfing. Survivors include a son, Larry S., Oak Park, Ill.; a daughter, Rayna L.     • BECK, STEPHEN J., 83, of Largo, died Monday (Dec. 31, 2001) at home. He was born in Sharon, Pa., and came here in 1957 from North Babylon, N.Y. He retired after 16 years as a lead man in the shipping and receiving department at Unisys Corp., Clearwater. He was a member of Lutheran Church of the Palms, Palm Harbor. He played semi-pro football in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was a member of the Fife & Drum Corps in Brooklyn. He also was a senior Boy Scout Council member of several local troops. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Irene V.; three sons, Brian, St. Petersburg, and Rodney A. and Edward, both Clearwater; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was born in Hampton, Va., and came here in 1976 from Clearfield, Pa., after retiring from teaching at Clearfield High School. She was a graduate of William and Mary College, Williamsburg, Va., and received a master's degree from Pennsylvania State University. She was a member of St. Giles Episcopal Church, Pinellas Park.     • FANTZ, FRED D., 86, of Weirton, W.Va., formerly of Gulfport, died Sunday (Dec. 30, 2001) at the Weirton Geriatric Center. He was born in Houston. He retired as the owner of Bay Machine Shop in Gulfport and also had been a high-pressure welder and a home building contractor. He was a member of Gulfport United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of Hamer Masonic Lodge 167 F&AM and a member of Koneta Chapter 385 of OES, both in Wapakoneta, Ohio. He was past high priest of Royal Arch Masons Chapter 183 in Wapakoneta. Survivors include his wife, Maxine; two daughters, Suzanne Enochs, Toronto, Ohio, and Nancy Jane Palke, Santa Barbara, Calif.; a brother, Paul, St. Louis; four grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. He attended St. Jude's Cathedral in St. Petersburg and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Detectives Endowment Association, both in New York. Born in New York City, he came here from Columbus, Ohio, and moved to Hartford City in 2001. He owned dental laboratories in New York and Indiana and worked in laboratories in Houston and St. Petersburg, retiring after 50 years. He was a member of Central Christian Church in St. Petersburg and O'Leara Quirk American Legion Post 90 in Eaton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a retired technician employed by the Veterans Administration of St. Petersburg and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was Protestant.     • HESS, THEODORE JAY, 86, of St. Petersburg, died Friday (Dec. 28, 2001) at Bayfront Medical Center. Born in Mayport, Pa., he came here in 1976 from Long Island, N.Y. He was Protestant. He received a bachelor of arts and science degrees from the universities of Michigan and Pennsylvania and a master of business administration degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He was a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel, serving in World War II. He also was a retired personnel administrator from Nabisco. He was a foreman for Decks Corp. of Largo, retiring after 30 years of service. He also worked for B&H Awning and Seminole Awning. He was a member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church, where he formerly sang in Choir No. 1 and served as a district leader under the late Rev. Fate Blasingane.     • ROWENS, ROBERT GARDNER JR. "ROBBY," 49, of St. Petersburg, died Monday (Dec. 31, 2001) at home. Born in Cheverly, Md., he came here in 1959 from Aberdeen, Md. He was a 1969 graduate of Northeast High School and an avid sports fan. He worked as a maintenance man for the Lodge at Mainlands in Pinellas Park. He attended St. Peter's Episcopal Cathedral.     • WASHINGTON, MARY, 90, of St. Petersburg, died Friday (Dec. 28, 2001) at Suncoast Manor Health Center. She came here in 1934 from Tallahassee. She was a homemaker and a member of Peaceful Zion Missionary Baptist Church and its choir, and OES Bright Jewel Chapter 58.     • WILCOX, THEODORE FREDERICK, 45, of Floral City, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Saturday (Dec. 29, 2001) in Inverness. Born in Clearwater, he moved to Floral City in 1994 from St. Petersburg. He was a restaurant server and a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a bagpiper and Christian.     • WILLIAMS, CLARA MAE (ROBINSON), 72, of Hartford, Conn., formerly of St. Petersburg, died Saturday (Dec. 29, 2001) at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, Hartford. Born in Thomasville, Ga., she came here in 1936 and moved to Hartford in 1956. She was a 1951 graduate of Gibbs High School. She was a hairdresser for many years in the Hartford area. She was a member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, in Bloomfield, Conn., serving on the usher board and the stewardship and missionary boards. Survivors include her husband, Franklin R. Sr.; three sons, Jerome M. Sr., Bloomfield, and Franklin R. Jr. and Christopher J. Hawes, both of Hartford; her mother, Evelyn Robinson, St. Petersburg; two sisters, Janice R.     • BUTCHER, CHARLES K. "BUTCH," 79, of Seminole, died Sunday (Dec. 30, 2001) at home. Born in Kokomo, Ind., he came here in 1972 from Washington, D.C. He was a retired self-employed accountant and tax consultant. He was a U.S. Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church in Largo, Howard Lodge 93 F&AM in Kokomo, the Pinellas County Chapter of the National Association of Accountants and the Seminole Rotary Club. He also was a chartered organizational representative for St. Dunstan's Troop 488 of the Boy Scouts of America and a 50-year member of the International Typographical Union. Survivors include a son, Jeffrey K., Louisville, Ky.; a sister, Ida Murphy, Rochester, Ind.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was an office clerk for Hav-A-Tampa Cigars for nearly four years. She was a member of Seminole Baptist Church. She enjoyed bowling, crafts and sewing. Survivors include her husband, Joseph L.; two sons, David L. Smith, Seminole, and Richard Daniel Smith, Pascagoula, Miss.; a daughter, Leslie Smith, Largo; a brother, Clarence David Blalock, Garland, Texas; two grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a niece.
