In five years, home entertainment will be a lot different, at least as Steve Perlman sees it. Asked to share his vision of what lies ahead, Perlman begins with Sheila, the mom of the house, coming home from work.

Q. For a long time and on several computers, I used a program called PFS Window Works, by a company called Spinnaker, for word processing, spreadsheet, databases, address files, etc. It worked just fine.
