TAMPA -- Jesuit right-handed pitcher Nick Peterson has committed to Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C., according to Tigers coach John Crumbley. Peterson, 6 feet 2, 180 pounds, was 5-1 last year with a 2.08 ERA. He won the Tigers' opener this season, allowing three hits in five innings and striking out nine.
Regional wrestling tournaments
Regional tournaments are Friday and Saturday. Admission is $5 per session. Wrestling starts at noon Friday with preliminaries and the first two rounds of wrestlebacks. Wrestling continues at 10 a.m. Saturday with the semifinals and the third and fourth rounds of wrestlebacks. The consolations are at 6 p.m. and the finals are at 7:30.
