Bill not covered by Medicare
On July 18, 2000, I developed terrible chest pains, and at 4 a.m. I called 911. The EMTs found it necessary to transport me to the hospital at 4:40. Being alone with no other help available, I agreed to be taken to the emergency room at a nearby hospital. I do have a heart condition and other medical problems, and I am on different medications. Nonetheless, Medicare refused to pay the bill of $390.40. The bill was turned over to a collection agency.
