St. Petersburg runners make strong showing
The Gasparilla Distance Classic was disappointing for a few, including last year's winners, but great for about 99 percent of the 13,500-runner field. Probably never before in the 25-year history of the nationally-acclaimed event have the previous winners retired prematurely.
