Editor: Like many people, I was shocked to learn that management at Anclote Key State Park had taken over the sandbar to its north, declaring it a bird sanctuary and restricting public access. For a number of years, this sandbar has been enjoyed by many local boaters. It was a wonderful place for families to take the grandchildren and even the dog for socializing, picnicking, or roasting marshmallows over an evening campfire.
