UAE rejects Al-Najjar's request for residency
WASHINGTON -- The United Arab Emirates has rejected Mazen Al-Najjar's request for residency, setting the stage for a renewed legal battle over the use of classified intelligence information in immigration cases.

Death is sought for suspect in attacks
Federal prosecutors in Virginia and New York are seeking the death penalty for Zacarias Moussaoui, identified by law enforcement officials as the "20th hijacker" in the Sept. 11 attacks, government officials said Monday.

Mueller asks countries to be 'on alert' for al-Qaida
MANILA, Philippines -- Al-Qaida activists are operating in Asia, FBI director Robert Mueller said Monday, and Washington has evidence that members of Osama bin Laden's organization have tried to obtain weapons of mass destruction.
