HAVRE, CHARLES, 91, of Inverness, died Sunday (April 28, 2002) in Citrus Memorial Hospital of Inverness. Born in South Euclid, Ohio, he came to Florida in 1976 from the Cleveland area. He was a retired postal carrier with the U.S. post office and later retired as a law enforcement dispatcher. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Inverness. Survivors include his wife, Lucille Honsben; a son, Dr. Dale Havre, Inverness; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
SMITH, DONALD H., 71, of Beverly Hills, died Friday (April 26, 2002) at home. Born in Geneva, N.Y., he came here in 1989 from Palmyra, N.Y. He was a senior designer for Kodak and was a Navy veteran. He was a member of the Crystal River American Legion Post 155, Finger Lakes Power Squadron of Upstate New York, and enrolled in the Naval Memorial Log Foundation in Washington, D.C. He was Methodist. SMITH, ESTHER M., 81, of Beverly Hills, died Monday (April 29, 2002) in Sumtner County. Born in Los Angeles, she came here 15 years ago from Concord, N.C. She and her late husband, Rev. Archie Smith, founded the Crystal River Foursquare Church. She was a member of the Foursquare Womens International. Survivors include her son, Randall, Beverly Hills; and a grandson, Christopher Ian. STEWART, TIMOTHY GARETH, 52, of Inverness, formerly of Tampa, died Sunday (April 28, 2002) in Inverness. Born in Pottstown, Pa., he came here in 1997 from Tampa. He was a home improvement salesman. He was the retired owner/operator of DeSelectronics Inc. He was Jewish. Born in Belleville, Ill., he came here 35 years ago from Livonia, Mich., and was a plumber. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and a member of the Detroit Masonic Lodge. He was Protestant. LUDWIG, GORDON J., 72, of Spring Hill, died Saturday (April 27, 2002) at Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Brooksville. Born in Flushing, N.Y., he came to Spring Hill in 1985. He was retired from American Airlines after 35 years of service. He served as an EMT in Flushing for many years. He was an Army Air Force veteran and volunteered with the Hernando County Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hudson. BLAKELY, HOWARD WILLIAM, 91, of Crystal River, formerly of Largo and Tampa, died Thursday (April 25, 2002) in Crystal River. Born in Trosky, Minn., he moved to Largo in 1946 from Wellsville, N.Y., and then moved to Crystal River in 1974 from Tampa. He was owner of Blakely Upholstery. CONIGLIO, TONY, 83, of Tampa, died Monday (April 29, 2002). He was an Army veteran of World War II, served as a first lieutenant on board a B-17, was a founding member of Tampa Wholesale Produce Market Inc., and also worked with his father and brother in Coniglio Bros. Inc. He was a sales manager for 20 years at Stake Tomatoes of Ruskin, was a member of the Italian Club and the Centro Asturiano de Tampa. She was a salesclerk for 10 years at Reynolds Department Store in New Jersey and was a homemaker. She attended Van Dyke United Methodist Church and was a member of the Eastern Star. WALLACE, JOHN GEORGE, 83, a winter resident of Dunedin, formerly of Tampa, died Tuesday (April 23, 2002) at Mease Dunedin Hospital. He was born in Tampa, grew up in Vineland, N.J., and had returned to this area annually since 1998 from Annapolis, Md. He retired from the Navy in 1963 with the rank of captain and was a veteran of World War II. He received the Navy Cross for action aboard the USS San Francisco where he served as a gunnery officer. After the war he worked with Adm. Hyman Rickover on the Nuclear Propulsion Seal and in the Navy Department as a ship engineering executive. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1941. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Dunedin. Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Jeanne; a daughter, Marjorie Wallace-Chisholm, Fairfax, Va.; two sons, Michael, Fairfax, and John Jr., Annapolis; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was retired from a construction company as a heavy-equipment operator, was an Army veteran of World War II and was Pentecostal. He was a marina operator and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was past Mardi Gras King of the Krew of Kemehameha in 1987. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of New Port Richey. Born in McDonald, Pa., she came to the area in 1943 from Dearborn, Mich. She was a homemaker and was Catholic. She was a member of the Zephyrhills Garden Club and won many statewide flower arranging contests. She was an avid poet, writer and painter. He was a retired bus foreman for the New York Transit Authority and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He was a member of the Hernando LST Association and Tarpon Springs Moose Lodge.
