KLEMM, RICHARD ALLAN "RICK," 59, of Crystal River, died Sunday (April 28, 2002) at home. Born in Mount Holly, N.J., he came here 14 years ago from Berlin, N.J., and was a co-owner of Bob's Boat Yard in Homosassa. He was Catholic. Survivors include his mother, Domicella, Brigantine, N.J.; four brothers, Joseph, Ronald and David, all of Brigantine, and Alan, Pleasantville, N.J.; two sisters, Victoria O'Brien, Moorestown, N.J., and Mary Leclio, Stuart; several nieces and nephews. LEWIE, TALIS, 80, of Brooksville, died Wednesday (May 1, 2002) at Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Brooksville. Born in South Carolina, he came here 39 years ago from Jacksonville. He was the retired owner/operator of White's Auto, a former Brooksville City Commissioner, charter member of Brooksville Golf & Country Club and member of the Masonic Lodge. He was Baptist. VACCARO, SADIE, 85, of Lecanto, died Wednesday (May 1, 2002) at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she came here 13 years ago from New Hyde Park, N.Y., and was the retired co-owner of J.V. Live Poultry in Brooklyn. She was Catholic. BRONISZ, HENRY NORMAN, 65, of Spring Hill, died Sunday (April 28, 2002). Born in Buffalo, N.Y., he had lived in Spring Hill the past 13 years. He was a longtime business owner. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Lorraine; two daughters, Michelle and Tamara, both of Spring Hill; four sons, Michael, Martin, Mark, Buffalo, N.Y. and Thomas, Raleigh, N.C.; eight grandchildren. TIMMONS, RUTH H., 82, of Brooksville, died Tuesday (April 30, 2002) at Brooksville Regional Hospital. Born in McMinnville, Tenn., she came here nine years ago from Brentwood, Tenn. She was a homemaker and member of the First United Methodist Church of Brooksville. Survivors include two sons, Walter L. Timmons Jr., Nashville, and Harry P. YOUNGFLESH, JOSEPH E., 82, of Brooksville, died Tuesday (April 30, 2002) at Forest Oaks Care Center in Spring Hill. Born in Philadelphia, he came here in 1972 from Ocean Gate, N.J. He was a retired Philadelphia Fire Department Battalion Chief with 27 years of service. He was an Army veteran achieving the rank of sergeant. He served in Okinawa and Korea. He was a member of the Brooksville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10209, and a 15-year member of Ed Salmon String Band in Hudson. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Anne; three daughters, Patricia Meshon, Rosemont, Pa., Frances O'Loughlin, Ocean Gate, and Florence Illuminatti, Toms River, N.J.; a stepson, Jerry L. ACKERLY, FRANK L., JR., 84, of Brandon, died Monday (April 29, 2002) in Brandon. Born in Waycross, Ga., he was a longtime resident of Florida. He was a developer and was a charter member of the Brandon Lions. AUSTIN, GENE DEE, 69, of Tampa, died Sunday (April 28, 2002) in Tampa. Born in Ogden, Utah, he moved to the Tampa area several years ago from Utah. He was an Army veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars and a bluegrass picker. BLEVINS, KYLE C., JR., 63, of Plant City, died Wednesday (May 1, 2002) at St. Joseph's Hospital, Tampa. Born in Pendleton, Ore., he moved to the Tampa area several years ago from Oregon. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and retired after 21 years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post 334, a 32nd-degree Mason and a member of First Baptist Church, Plant City. JOHANSEN, ALVIN L., 79, of Hudson, died Tuesday (April 30, 2002) at home. Born in Woonsocket, S.D., he came here in 1984 from Kansas City, Mo. He retired as an agronomist and regional manager for Bayer Co., Kansas City, with 16 years of service. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II (Pacific Theater) and the Korean War. He was a member of the Marine Corps League and Aripeka BPOE Lodge 2520. He was a member of St. Micheal the Archangel Catholic Church. LERCH, OTTMAR WALTER, 79, of New Port Richey, died Tuesday (April 30, 2002) at Madison Pointe Nursing Home in New Port Richey after a long illness. Born in Astoria, N.Y., he came here 17 years ago from Peekskill, N.Y. He retired as a comptroller for Tree Preservation Co. with 30 years of service. He was a graduate of Packard Business School of New York, having earned an associate's degree. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and served five years in the Mid-Pacific Area. She was in the real estate sales industry, member of the Golden Girls of Zephyrhills and First Baptist Church. He was a retired electric typesetter for Riley Electric Type and was an Army Medical Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the New York Stereotypers Union #1 and Holiday VFW Post 10167. He was president of LaVilla Gardens Civic Association and member of the LaVila Gardens Teen Club. He was president of Colonial Hills Guys & Gals Bowling League. He was a member of the Port Richey Organ Society and Keynote Organ Club. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church of Holiday. He worked as an electrical superintendent and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. - BATTLES, FLORENCE, 82, of Largo, died Tuesday (April 30, 2002) at Pine Crest Assisted Living Facility. She was born in Garretson, S.D., and came here in 1975 from Broomfield, Colo. She worked as an accountant for the federal government and was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Largo. - HORNYAK, CHARLES, 89, of Largo, died Tuesday (April 30, 2002) at Wright's Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Largo. He was born in Franklin, N.J., and came here in 1969 from Orlando. He retired from the Air Force with the rank of master sergeant and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War and a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was a volunteer for 18 years at the VA Medical Center at Bay Pines. He was a member of Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Dunedin, the Pearl Harbor Survivors of the Scofield Barracks 245th Infantry Division, the Commanders Club and Disabled American Veterans of St. Petersburg, and the Air Force Sergeants Club, Elks Lodge 2519 and VFW Post 9272, both of Seminole, and Augustus Ruser Jr. American Legion Post 273, Madeira Beach. - MURDOCH, GEORGE C., 37, of Largo, died Monday (April 29, 2002) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Miami and came here in 1966. He graduated from Clearwater High School and received a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of South Florida, Tampa. He was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and recipient of its Courage Award for 2001. He was an advocate for the National Institutes of Health clinical trials for a cure for all cancers. He was a member of the Army Reserves and served during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He was president of Fully Rely on God's Salvation. He enjoyed fishing, boating, comedy and computers. Survivors include his wife, Jill; a son, Matthew, Largo; a sister, Marie Murdoch, Clearwater; three brothers, Jim, Clearwater, Paul, Rochester, N.H., and John, Seattle. - STOLL, JEAN A., 73, of Largo, died Friday (April 26, 2002) at home under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. She was born in Fairhaven, N.J., and came here in 1992 from Long Branch, N.J. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband of 37 years, George F.; two daughters, Carol Diodato, St. Cloud, and Cindy Theriot, Jupiter; two sons, James W. - THOMAS, HAROLD J., 84, of Ocala, formerly of Largo, died Saturday (April 27, 2002) at Ocala Regional Medical Center. He was born in Bradford, Pa., and moved to Ocala in 1997 from Largo where he had moved several years earlier from Charleston, W.Va. He was a retired mechanical service technician for Multigraph Corp. He was an Army medic veteran of World War II and served in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany. He was a member of Ocala West United Methodist Church, the Methodist Men's Club, the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Shrine, American Legion and On Top of the World Hi-12 Club. - WELCH, RICHARD F., 69, of Largo, died Saturday (April 27, 2002). He was born in Medford, Mass., and came here in 1992 from Center Square, Pa. He worked at Chase Manhattan Bank, NCR, IBM and Sperry Univac and was director of competitive analysis for Sperry Univac for more than a decade. He was a Navy radio operator in the Korean War. - WOLFE, CHARLES R., a winter resident of Largo, died Monday (April 29, 2002) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. He was born in Fort Wayne, Ind., and came here annually since 1965 from Coldwater Lake, Mich. He was a police officer and retired after 22 years with the Fort Wayne Police Department. He was a member of Wayne Lodge 14 Fraternal Order of Police. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Ruth E.; a son, Leon, Pretty Lake, Ind.; a half brother, Dr. John Wolfe, Atlanta; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. - SCHWERDTFEGER, WILLIAM R., 94, of Seminole, died Wednesday (May 1, 2002) at Seminole Nursing Pavilion. Born in Lincoln, Ill., he came here in 1971 from Norristown, Pa. He was a retired ticket agent and block operator for Pennsylvania Railroad of 35 years. He was Episcopal. Survivors include a son, Robert H., Seminole; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. - VOSS, PATRICIA LYNN, 47, of Seminole, died Friday (April 26, 2002) at Vanderbilt University Hospital, Nashville. She came here in 1972 from her native Memphis. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks in Largo and a customer service representative at Colonial Penn Insurance Co. in Tampa. - WHITELEATHER, RICHARD T., 92, of Seminole, died Tuesday (April 30, 2002) at Seminole Nursing Pavilion. Born in Spokane, Wash., he came here in 1956 from Falls Church, Va. He was a 1935 graduate of the University of Washington's College of Fisheries and worked 36 years for the National Marine Fisheries Service, the last 14 years in St. Pete Beach as deputy director and then director of the 17-state southeast region. He was a member of St. Anne of Grace Episcopal Church, a life member of the President's Club at the University of Washington, an honorary life member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, past president of the Holiday Isles Optimist Club and the Belle Vista Civic Association in St. Pete Beach and a member of AARP, Sierra Club and the National Wildlife Federation. - JEANNOTTE, GEORGE, 85, of Madeira Beach, died Friday (April 26, 2002) at home under care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. Born in Lowell, Mass., he came here in 1981 from North Haven, Conn. He received a law degree from George Washington University and was an estate agent for the federal government and a senior trust officer for Union Trust Bank in Connecticut. He served on the Board of Adjustment for the city of Madeira Beach for nine years. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, serving in England and France as an interpreter. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Gladys; a son, David, Clearwater; three daughters, Marie Crouch, Richmond, Va., Peggy Eagan, West Haven, Conn., and Susan Colberg, Meriden, Conn.; a brother, Paul, Palmetto; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. - STUART, JAMES ALLEN, 57, of Clearwater, formerly of Pinellas Park, died Monday (April 29, 2002) at his mother's home in Clearwater under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., he served eight years in the U.S. Air Force and moved to Pinellas Park in 1964 from MacDill Air Force Base. He graduated from the University of Tampa with a degree in psychology and was a registered nurse at the VA Medical Center at Bay Pines and for 15 years at St. Anthony's Hospital. Survivors include a son, Michael J., Clearwater; his mother, Hazel M. Stuart, Clearwater; two sisters, Christine Stuart, Clearwater, and Kathleen Stuart, Hartford, Vt.; three brothers, John, Clearwater, Gary, Freehold, N.J., and Glenn, Brick, N.J. Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, Clearwater.
