India, Pakistan try to secure international help
NEW DELHI -- India and Pakistan exchanged fire across their border in Kashmir on Monday as each side sought to bring international pressure to bear on the other. India said it asked for foreign help in isolating Pakistan, which requested international help in starting talks to settle the territorial dispute.

JERUSALEM -- After Arkady Wieselman narrowly escaped Israel's deadliest suicide bombing by walking out of a hotel dining room moments before a blast killed 29 people, he phoned his family to say his survival was a miracle.

Poll shows president still has strong support
WASHINGTON -- Questions about whether the administration properly handled warnings of possible terrorist attacks last summer have done little to diminish President Bush's standing with the American people.
