COFFEE, THOMAS, 79, of Beverly Hills, died Thursday (Aug. 8, 2002) at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness. He came here in 1986 from his native, Passaic, N.J. He was retired after 39 years of service as deputy inspector for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He marched many years in the Manhattan, N.Y., St. Patrick's Day parade and earned many medals and commendations while serving the Port Authority. For more than 30 years, he spent summers at his home in Beach Haven Crest, N.Y. He loved dancing, bowling, golfing and watching classic movies. He was a history buff, particularly on the Civil War and American Revolutionary War periods. He was a life member of VFW Harry F. Nesbitt Post 10087, Beverly Hills, and a member of Beverly Hills Recreation Center and Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Violet; two daughters, Barbara Coffey and Christine Van Oort, both of Schenectady, N.Y.; a sister, Catherine Jany, Beverly Hills; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. EDWARDS, ROBERT S., 78, of Inglis, died Friday (Aug. 9, 2002) in Crystal River. Born in Royal Oak, Mich., he came here two years ago from Irons, Mich. He was a retired pipe fitter for Dow Chemical Company and a member of the Three C's. He was Pentecostal. Survivors include his wife, Ruth (Colegrove); four sons, Robert Jr. and Don, both of Bay City, Mich., and Jeffrey and Gary, both of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three daughters, Gail Fox, Bay City, and Jane Grischke and Sarah Gierz, both of Grand Rapids; a sister, Jean Bishop, Largo; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. PALUB, STEPHEN, 89, of Hernando, died Thursday (Aug. 8, 2002) in Hernando. Born in Jersey City, N.J., he came here in 1979 from College Point, N.Y. He was a salesman for Electrical Supplies-Harvey Hibbell Inc. He was past master of the Anchor Astoria Lodge 729 F and AM, College Point, and in 1992, president of Beverly Hills Level Club. He was a member of the Trenton, N.J., Consistory; Crescent Shrine Temple, Trenton; Orthodox Square Club; Citrus Shrine Club; Suncoast Orthodox Square Club; Federated Russian Orthodox Club Chapter 129, Jersey City; and St. Andrews Orthodox Church. BRAUER, SHIRLEY M., 79, of Spring Hill, died Saturday (Aug. 10, 2002) at home. Born in Chicago, she came here 17 years ago from Des Plaines, Ill. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Norman; a son, Kenneth, South Barrington, Ill.; a daughter, Jill York, Tampa; and three grandchildren. HALL, ARCHIE R., 82, of Spring Hill, died Friday (Aug. 9, 2002) at home. Born in Lebanon, Ohio, he came here 13 years ago from Jersey City, N.J. He was a truck driver, an Army veteran and a member of the Teamsters Union and St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Anna; three sons, Robert, Fort Mill, S.C., John, Keansburg, N.J., and Thomas, Spring Hill; a daughter, Valerie Hanley, Edison, N.J.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. KEETER, ROSEMARY E., 73, of Tampa, died Saturday (Aug. 10, 2002) at Town & Country Hospital. Born in Watertown, N.Y., she moved to Tampa in 1978. She was an insurance underwriter. BERMUDEZ, FERNANDO J., 91, of Bayonet Point, died Friday (Aug. 9, 2002) at Hospice House of Pasco County. Born in Mexico, he came here eight years ago from California. He was a retired exporter and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Sonja; a son, Peter, England; two daughters, Kathleen Robbins, Fox Point, Wisc.; and Jacqueline Vanden Heuvel, Sherwood, Wisc.; and six grandchildren. CLARK, WILLIAM HENRY, 77, of New Port Richey, died Saturday (Aug. 10, 2002) at Orchard Ridge Rehab and Nursing Center, New Port Richey. He came here in 1995 from Kansas City, Mo. He retired after 24 years of service as a machine operator for Hallmark Cards, Kansas City, and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Masonic Lodge of Parkville, Mo., Scottish Rite, Liberty, Mo., and Ararat Shrine Temple, Kansas City. He was a past worthy patron of OES, Adelphi Chapter 191, Edgerton, Mo., a member of Unity Church, Port Richey, and attended William Jewel College, Libery, Mo. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Elva; four daughters, Carolyn Summers, Port Richey, Elizabeth Austain, Kansas City, Joanne Kennision, Holt, Mo., and Stephanie Clark, New Port Richey; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. DAILY, ERNEST GALE, 42, of Holiday, died Saturday (Aug. 10, 2002) at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital, Tarpon Springs. Born in Columbus, Ohio, he came here in 2001 from Ada, Ohio. He was a machine operator for Ball Metal in Findlay, Ohio. He was a graduate of London High School, London, Ohio, an outstanding football and baseball player, an avid supporter of Ada athletic teams, a coach of midget football for several years, and was Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Tamara; two daughters, Lindsay, Kissimmee, and Heidi, Columbus; six brothers, Dick and Jeff, both of London, Tom, Columbus, Harry Pickens, West Virginia, Bob Pickens, London, Jim Pickens, Minnesota; and one cousin. SIWULEC, PHILIP F. "PHIL," 87, of New Port Richey, died Friday (Aug. 9, 2002) at North Bay Hospital, New Port Richey. Born in New York City, he came here in 1979 from Long Beach Island, N.J. He retired, after 20 years of service, as general manager of transportation for Burlington Industries, New York. He was an Army Calvary Division veteran of World War II, and was Catholic. - FERRARO, BEVERLY, 65, of Clearwater, died Monday (July 29, 2002) at home. She came here in 1998 from her native Buffalo, N.Y., where she worked as an office manager for Frank L. Haveron Co., food brokers. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Dunedin, the Italian American Women of Today (LIADO) and the Italian-American Club of Greater Clearwater. Survivors include her husband, Anthony J.; a son, Anthony J. III, Tampa; two sisters, Patricia Kantartzis, Carlsbad, Calif., and Fran Parisi, Buffalo,; a brother, Victor Filadora, West Seneca, N.Y.; and her stepmother, Ann Filadora, Buffalo. - HEITZ, L. LAURENCE, 91, of Clearwater, died Friday (Aug. 9, 2002) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. He was born in Trenton, N.J., and came here in 1985 from Yardley, Pa. He co-owned and operated Hutchinson Signs Inc. for 30 years in Trenton. He was a member of the Marine Corps League and Elks Lodge 1525, Clearwater. He was an avid fisherman and piano player. He was Catholic. Survivors include two sons, Laurence, Bethlehem, Pa., and Kenneth, Indian Lake, N.Y.; two brothers, William, Brandon, and Kenneth, Lakeland; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. - JENKINS, CLIFFORD SR., 93, of Clearwater, died Saturday (Aug. 10, 2002) at Integrated Health Services of Clearwater. He came here many years ago from his native Elwin. He worked for 25 years, until his 91st birthday, in maintenance for F.W. Woolworth Co. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was an active member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Clearwater, sang in the choir and was a member of their traveling gospel choir. Survivors include a son, Clifford Jr., Clearwater; four daughters, Betty Blue and Ruby Smith, both of Clearwater, and Rose Randall and Ella Cranford, both of Largo; a stepdaughter, Ruth Gibbs, Ocala; a sister, Ella Mae Howell, Jacksonville; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. - NOVAK, MICHAEL T. SR., 89, of Clearwater, died Sunday (Aug. 11, 2002) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. He was born in Port Griffith, Pa., and came here in 1974 from Passaic, N.J., where he owned and operated a general store. He was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church, Clearwater. Survivors include a son, Michael T. Jr., Tampa; a daughter, Patricia Dolecki, Barnegat, N.J.; a sister, Catherine Iglody, Passaic, six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. - STARANOWICZ, TED P., 91, of Clearwater, died Saturday (Aug. 10, 2002) at Mease Continuing Care, Dunedin. He was born in North Chicago, Ill., and came here in 1964 from Lake Bluff, Ill. He was a salesman for U.S. Home Corp. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He graduated with a law degree from DePaul University. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Dunedin, and Turner Brandon American Legion Post 7, Clearwater. - FERGUSON, ELIZABETH J., 90, of Dunedin and formerly of St. Petersburg, died Friday (Aug. 9, 2002) at Manor Care Dunedin nursing home. She was born in Ford County, Ill., and moved to Dunedin in 1950 from St. Petersburg. She was a homemaker and a member of the Christian Church in Illinois. Survivors include three sisters, Virginia Seeling and Mildred Shilts, both of Dunedin, and Opal Benjamin, Holiday; a brother, Kenneth Jones, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. - CRUICKSHANK, JAMES W. "JIMMY JOE," 61, of Largo, died Saturday (Aug. 10, 2002) at Hospice House Woodside, Pinellas Park. He came here in 1986 from his native Paterson, N.J., where he played All-Star softball. He managed Rogers Industrial Park, Largo, and was a Marine Corps veteran. He was an avid football fan. Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Karen; a son, Jamie, Wayne, N.J.; a daughter, Nicole Cruickshank, Paterson; a brother, Allan, Largo; two sisters, Marie Kelly, Largo, Lory Kelly, Lincoln Park, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews. - FRISCH, MARY F., 77, of Largo, died Saturday (Aug. 10, 2002) at Mariner Health Care of Clearwater. She came here in 1945 from her native Motherwell, Scotland. She was a homemaker, and a professional singer and entertainer. She was Catholic. Survivors include two stepsons, James and Jerry, and a stepdaughter, Joan Forbes, all of Clearwater. - LAWHON, PHILLIP GREEN SR., 81, of Largo, died Friday (Aug. 9, 2002) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. He was born in Bushnell and came here in 1952 from Maryland. He worked as an assistant director of General Services for Pinellas County. He was an Army Air Forces top gunner during World War II, and served in the American and Asiatic-Pacific campaigns. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross and two oak-leaf clusters. He was a member of Anona United Methodist Church, Largo, the NRA and the Antelope Club. Survivors include his wife, Vera; a son, Phillip GreenJr., Largo; two daughters, Kathleen Schrader, Spring Hill, and Annette Lawhon, Largo; and two grandchildren, Bill Schrader, and Danny "Phil" Schrader, Spring Hill. - RUSSO, JOHN V., 85, of Largo, died Friday (Aug. 9, 2002) at Sun Coast Hospital, Largo. He came here in 1973 from his native Brooklyn, N.Y., where he worked as a clerk for King's County Grand Jury. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church and Heisler-Johnson American Legion Post 119, both of Largo, and Indian Rocks VFW Post 10094. - SMYTH, CONSTANCE R., 85, of Largo, died Friday (Aug. 9, 2002) at Largo Medical Center. She was born in Cambridge, Mass., and came here in 1978 from Andover, Mass., where she worked as a librarian for 20 years with the Memorial Hall Library. She was a member of Church of the Isles Congregational, Indian Rocks Beach, and PEO Sisterhood, Seminole. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Charles W.; a son, Charles W. - ADUBATO, THOMAS S., 82, of Palm Harbor, died Friday (Aug. 9, 2002) at home. He was born in Newark, N.J., and came here in 1978 from Cranford, N.J., where he owned and operated B & A Flooring. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Catholic. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Peggy; two sons, Barry T., Orlando, and Gary J., Boca Raton; four sisters, Ann, Lee, Ireen and Lorraine, and a brother, Norman, all of New Jersey; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. - MARCUS, IRENE "TONI," 83, of Palm Harbor, died Friday (Aug. 9, 2002) at Hospice House Pasco, New Port Richey. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and came to Palm Harbor in 1991 from Mineola, N.Y. She was a telephone interviewer for Nielsen Media Research for 11 years. - KELLETT, JAMES, 95, of Gulfport, died Saturday (Aug. 10, 2002) at Palms of Pasadena Hospital, South Pasadena. He was born in Port Allegany, Pa., and came here in 1975 from Portville, N.Y. He worked for the Cattaraugus County Board of Education in New York. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses Gulfport Congregation. Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Nettie; a daughter, Mary Bernice Eastman, Allegany, N.Y.; a son, James D., Baltimore; a sister, Dorothea Cross, Cheektowaga, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. - ATKINSON, STEVE, 55, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday (Aug. 10, 2002) at the VA Medical Center at Bay Pines. He was a native of St. Petersburg. He was a 1964 graduate of St. Petersburg High School and a former restaurant manager. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was Presbyterian. - CARSWELL, ADA, 50, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday (Aug. 10, 2002) at Edward White Hospital. She came here in 1954 from her native Alamo, Ga. - DOBRILA, SUZANA, 51, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday (Aug. 10, 2002) at home under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. She came here in 1991 from her native Yugoslavia. She was a health services representative for the state of Florida. She attended St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church. - MCCALL, MARY ANNE, 73, of Inverness, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Thursday (Aug. 8, 2002) in Inverness. Born in Cincinnati she moved to Inverness from St. Petersburg 24 years ago. She was a secretary for Citrus County and worked at the county 4-H office. She was a volunteer at Citrus Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for the past 10 years. Survivors include her husband, Warner O'Bryan; a son, Timothy, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Kathleen O'Bryan, Bradenton Beach, and Kimberly O'Bryan-Lott, Bradenton; and five grandchildren. Chas. E. - PIERSONS, LOUISE M., 89, of St. Petersburg, died Friday (Aug. 9, 2002) at St. Anthony's Hospital. She was born in Ontario, and came here in 1950 from Hamburg, N.Y. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in St. Petersburg. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Searfoss and Diane Lacognata, both of St. Petersburg; two sons, John, Inverness, and Randall, Sweden; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. - SHERBURNE, NAOMI I., 89, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday (Aug. 10, 2002) at Colonial Care Center, Kenneth City. She was born in Peru, N.Y., and came here in 1983 from Rye, N.Y. She graduated with a teaching degree from Plattsburgh (N.Y.) Normal School. She taught in elementary schools in Delray Beach and in New York. Locally, she was a member of Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ. She was an avid gardener and belonged to gardening clubs in St. Petersburg and New York. Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth S. Johnson, Clinton, N.J.; a son, John H. Sherburne IV, St. Petersburg; a sister, Phyllis Lewis, St. Petersburg; a brother, Kermit Irwin, Peru, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. - WILLIAMS, RAYMOND L., 66, of Palm Springs, formerly of Dunedin and St. Petersburg, died Monday (Aug. 5, 2002) at JFK Medical Center, Atlantis. Born in St. Petersburg, he moved to Cocoa in 1965 from Dunedin and to Palm Springs about 20 years ago. He worked for 44 years in the sheet metal industry and was a member of Sheet Metal Local 32. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with Brevard Lodge 113, Cocoa. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Madeline; two daughters, Rhonda Bryant, Fort Walton Beach, and Pamela Williams, Mary Esther; a sister, Patricia Polaski, Palm Harbor; and two grandchildren, Lindsey and Bailey Bryant. - YUENGLING, PETER J., 88, of St. Petersburg, died Monday (July 29, 2002) at the VA Medical Center at Bay Pines. He was born in Mays Landing, N.J., and lived in St. Petersburg for many years. He was chief of police in Burlington City, N.J., from 1954 to 1967 and was a New Jersey charter member and a national delegate of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was a disabled Army veteran, serving during World War II as a sergeant major and a member of the Army Rifle Team. He was an avid bridge player and gardener and traveled extensively in his motor home for 25 years. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Swanson Yuengling; a daughter, Mary Ann Yuengling Savana, Browns Mills, N.J.; five grandchildren, Dawn M. Ghegan and Wendy J.
