Cirque du Soleil has extended to Dec. 15 the run of Quidam, now playing in the Grand Chapiteau at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. The show had been slated to close Dec. 8. (The announcement was made after today's Weekend section was printed.)

We music obsessives are a sad bunch, aren't we? It's tough to get ordinary folks to listen to us prattle on about the latest happenings in pop music. We scare our mates, our parents, our hairstylists and our mail carriers with our zeal for discussing the latest MTV video or who's on the cover of Rolling Stone.
Area singers, singles get a shot at TV
The growing glut of reality TV/talent contest/relationship shows has brought two new opportunities to the Tampa Bay area, giving residents a chance to become the first Nashville Star or the next Bachelor.

TODAY'S THE DAY: Sean "P. Diddy" Combs did the gentlemanly thing when asked to comment on the latest engagement of ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez. The man once in line to be the second ex-Mr. Lopez (he came after husband No. 1 and before No. 2) told Reuters, "I hope it works out," while in Barcelona, Spain, on Tuesday for the MTV Europe Music Awards. He also wished Lopez luck (but not her fiance, Ben Affleck, who needs it more) and said marriage is "a beautiful thing."
